A new NFAP analysis of USCIS data shows H-1B approvals for Indian-based firms have plunged, with only three Indian companies among the top 25 sponsors for initial employment in FY-2025. The top seven Indian firms recorded 4,573 approvals, a 70% fall since 2015 and a 37% drop from 2024. U.S. tech giants are increasingly hiring foreign graduates directly to build AI and advanced systems. Policy changes, including a proposed $100,000 fee for new H-1Bs, and corporate hiring shifts have driven more professionals to seek EB-1A and EB-2 NIW routes for permanent residency.
