Turkey has launched sweeping nationwide security operations against the Islamic State, detaining hundreds of suspects amid intelligence warnings of possible attacks during the holiday season. Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said 125 IS-linked suspects were arrested in coordinated raids across 25 provinces, bringing the total number detained in the past week to nearly 600. The crackdown follows warnings that militants were planning attacks around Christmas and New Year celebrations. Security forces have intensified surveillance and carried out raids across multiple regions, including a deadly operation in Yalova where three police officers were killed in a gun battle. Authorities have tightened security nationwide, deploying more than 50,000 personnel in Istanbul.
