West African Bloc ECOWAS Lifts Sanctions on Niger, Mali and Guinea

Pro-west bloc ECOWAS eased sanctions imposed on three junta-led countries Niger, Guinea and Mali. In a shift in strategy, the West African bloc has signalled a desire to renew dialogue with military regimes among its members. This comes after Mali, Niger and Burkina Faso announced their withdrawal from the nearly 50-year-old bloc.
