US Sanctions 32 Entities Linked to Iran's Military Programmes | Firstpost America

After averting a government shutdown, Washington has turned its attention to Iran, unveiling new sanctions targeting its missile and drone programmes. The US Treasury Department announced measures against 32 individuals and entities across eight countries accused of supporting Tehran's weapons production networks. The move follows renewed concern from the UN's nuclear watchdog over Iran's growing stockpile of highly enriched uranium. Meanwhile, the US is pushing to choke off Iranian funding to Hezbollah, which officials say has received about $1 billion this year. As Tehran showcased its missiles and drones in a military exhibition, tensions between Washington and Iran appear set to escalate further.
