He made these comments after Thunberg's detention and deportation by Israel, where she was participating in the Global Sumud Flotilla to Gaza. Trump called Thunberg a "troublemaker" and expressed surprise that she's "so angry" for a young person. This is not the first time Trump has slammed Thunberg. In 2019, he mocked her after she was named TIME magazine’s person of the year, suggesting she should chill and see a movie.
