Starbucks is shaking up more than coffee with a new lineup of protein-packed drinks, offering as much as 36 grams of protein per grande cup. The range includes protein lattes, cold foams, and creative flavors like banana, chocolate, matcha, and even pumpkin. Customers can add protein to nearly any drink for just a dollar or two. Nutritionists say the “proffee” trend is useful for boosting protein intake but warn it’s no substitute for a balanced diet. While critics joke Starbucks is morphing into a gym café, fans are praising the innovation. The drinks are rolling out year-round across North America.
