Scientists Confirm Cases of Bird Flu in Mainland Antarctica for First Time

The samples of two penguins reveal that the birds have been infected by the H5N1 influenza also known as bird flu in Antarctica’s mainland. This has raised alarm bells among scientists as they are worried that the bird flu will kill thousands of colonies of Penguins. Bird flu does not just affect birds, other animals like seals, polar bears, and dolphins are also at the risk of losing their life to bird flu.
