Doctors and medical professionals in South Korea have submitted their resignation amid a growing protests against the government’s plans to induct more physicians in the workforce. At least 1,600 junior doctors walked out of work sending hospitals into chaos as surgeries were delayed and patients were turned away. South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol has urged doctors to return to work.
