Venezuela and the United States remain in heightened tensions as Washington reportedly deploys seven warships, including a nuclear-powered fast attack submarine, to the Caribbean amid a crackdown on drug cartels. Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro stated that sanctions, blockades, psychological warfare, and sieges have failed and asserted there is "no way" President Donald Trump's troops could invade. Maduro oversaw military exercises in Caracas, at a time when Venezuela has deployed warships, drones, and launched a militia recruitment drive. Caracas also raised concerns at the United Nations.
