Far-right parties have made significant gains in the European Parliamentary Election delivering humiliating defeats to French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and the left leaning parties in Belgium, Spain and Italy. Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni increased her grip on power after her party won the most votes in her country. Now, as the results continue to pour in, Macron dissolved the French Parliament and called for snap elections. The first round of election for the lower assembly will be on the 30th of June followed by on the 7th of July. Like Macron, Scholz also suffered defeat in the European Parliamentary election.
