US President-elect Donald Trump’s eldest son is visiting Greenland amid his father’s renewed desire that the US should own the self-governing territory. In a social media post, the president-elect confirmed that Donald Trump Jr will arrive in the Danish autonomous island with various representatives. The post also included a video clip of an unnamed Greenlander wearing a MAGA hat and supporting Trump’s idea of buying the island. Reports say the younger Trump has no plans to meet officials in Greenland as it is a one-day private trip. Trump Jr instead plans to record a video for his podcast while exploring the cultural sites in Greenland. Nevertheless, his father linked his visit to his much larger ambition of ownership and control of the world’s largest island.
