China Unveils Silent Jellyfish Robot Amid Rising Undersea Tech Ambitions | Firstpost America

China has unveiled a transparent, jellyfish-shaped robot designed for silent underwater exploration. The lifelike machine, often called an "underwater phantom," moves just like a real jellyfish using a special actuator system that mimics muscle signals while consuming minimal power. Equipped with an AI chip and miniature camera, it can recognise marine life, map the ocean floor and monitor fragile ecosystems without causing disturbance. However, its stealthy design has raised questions about potential military use, including the monitoring of undersea cables. The development comes months after China revealed a graphite "blackout bomb" capable of disabling power grids. A quiet yet powerful leap in underwater technology.
