Bedbugs Enter Google's New York City Offices, Employees Told To Stay Home | Firstpost America

Google’s New York offices faced an unusual disruption after a bedbug infestation was detected at its $2.1 billion Chelsea campus. Employees were advised to work remotely on October 18 as exterminators and a sniffer dog confirmed the presence of the pests. The site underwent overnight fumigation, while inspections at the nearby Hudson Square campus found no signs of infestation. The incident comes weeks after Google tightened its remote work policy, reducing flexibility for staff. This is not the company’s first encounter with bedbugs — a similar outbreak occurred in 2010. The Chelsea office has since reopened and been declared pest-free.
