Apple’s latest “Cosmic Orange” iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max are grabbing attention for all the wrong reasons. Just weeks after launch, users are flooding X and Reddit with photos showing their vibrant orange phones fading to a pinkish hue. Experts say the anodised aluminium frame—introduced this year for richer colours—may react to chemicals like hydrogen peroxide, commonly found in cleaning sprays and sanitisers. Apple’s own support page warns against such products. The issue follows “Scratchgate,” where users complained of easily damaged exteriors. While some call it a stylish gradient, others see it as an expensive cosmetic mishap.
