Protests erupted in Chicago and Portland denouncing President Donald Trump’s decision to deploy national guard troops in the cities. Protesters rallying against the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency surrounded a vehicle in a Chicago suburb as federal agents fired pepper balls and tear gas at the crowd. President Donald Trump announced the deployment of troops in Portland, Oregon on Friday, a move which was strongly criticised by Oregon Governor Tina Kotek. Oregon has responded by suing the Trump administration, arguing that the deployment of the National Guard to Portland is "unlawful". Meanwhile, several eyewitness videos showed ICE agents mishandling and body-slamming detainees, raising questions over the agency’s detaining tactics.
