As per reports, Libya’s Tripoli-based, UN-recognised government has reached a deal with the powerful Radaa Force, ending months of violence in the capital. Negotiations were reportedly facilitated by Türkiye, which has positioned itself as a mediator in Africa, having also resolved disputes between Ethiopia and Somalia and offered to mediate in Sudan. Tripoli, still fractured after years of civil war and militia dominance, witnessed heavy clashes in May, with Radaa controlling eastern districts, Mitiga Airport, and detention centres. The agreement reportedly aims to establish a neutral force to secure key airports, though lasting peace remains uncertain.
