South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has dismissed the US boycott of the upcoming G20 Summit in South Africa, calling it “their loss.” Ramaphosa emphasised that the summit—set for November 22–23, 2025—will proceed as planned, marking the first G20 meeting on African soil. The United States, under President Donald Trump, announced it would skip the summit over alleged human rights abuses in South Africa. Trump claims that white Africans are being "killed and slaughtered" in South Africa. Ramaphosa has rejected the claims, reaffirming South Africa’s commitment to championing Global South priorities.
