Russia and Morocco Strengthen Ties, Sign New Cooperation Pact in Moscow | Firstpost Africa

Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita met Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov in Moscow to strengthen their strategic partnership. The two ministers signed a memorandum establishing a joint working committee to deepen cooperation and monitor existing agreements. Bourita highlighted that Morocco and Russia have signed 188 agreements across various sectors, one of the richest legal frameworks Morocco shares with any country. The ministers also discussed the Western Sahara dispute and the Gaza ceasefire. Lavrov reaffirmed Moscow’s support for a political solution on Western Sahara, while both sides committed to expanding trade, energy, and agricultural collaboration through the Joint Commission.
