Nigeria's Kidnapping Crisis Deepens, Pastor And Bride Abducted Among Others | Firstpost Africa

In Nigeria, at least 26 people were abducted over the weekend during two incidents in Kogi and Sokoto states. Armed men stormed a church in Kogi, kidnapping a pastor, his wife, and worshippers. A day earlier, 14 individuals were taken in Sokoto, including a bride and bridesmaids. Chacho village faced a similar attack in October, highlighting a worrying trend. President Tinubu has ordered 50,000 new police recruits and redeployed VIP bodyguards, but kidnappings continue unabated. In addition, over 265 students remain missing from a mass kidnapping in Niger State. Parents have been reporting missing children to police, amplifying fears nationally, while protests for protection of Christians escalate globally.
