A new investigation is putting Nestlé under intense scrutiny. Public Eye, a Swiss watchdog group, found that the company adds significant amounts of sugar to its Cerelac baby cereals sold across Africa, Asia and Latin America, while keeping the versions sold in Europe sugar-free. Lab tests on nearly 100 samples show that more than 90 percent contain added sugar, sometimes as high as 7 grams per serving. Health experts warn that introducing sugar this early can trigger lifelong cravings and raise obesity risks. Nestlé calls the findings misleading and says sweeter cereals help combat malnutrition and comply with local laws.
