Kenyan human rights activist Boniface Mwangi announced his presidential bid for the 2027 election on Katiba Day, the anniversary of Kenya's 2010 constitution. Mwangi, a long-time critic of President William Ruto's administration, urged Kenyans to "take back control" of the country from the current government, which he accuses of leading the nation into a state of crisis. Kenya has faced widespread protests since last year due to the high cost of living, unemployment, and police brutality. More than 100 people have been killed in the demonstrations so far. Mwangi has promised to address these issues if elected. Watch this video to know more.
