A major human rights organization in Ghana has taken legal action against the Mahama administration, challenging its recent deportation arrangement with the United States. The group, known as Democracy Hub, claims that dozens of individuals have been sent back to Ghana since early September, including 14 people who arrived on Monday, October 13. The activists argue that the deal violates the country’s constitution because it was never approved by parliament. Their petition also calls for the release of deportees allegedly being held in military custody, labeling the detentions as unlawful. This deportation partnership is viewed as part of President Donald Trump’s stronger immigration enforcement measures.
