French rapper Maes has been sentenced to seven years in Morocco over an alleged plot to kidnap and torture a rival linked, reportedly to a financial dispute. Moroccan investigators say he coordinated the plan from Dubai and reached out to a gang leader in Fez. The plot collapsed when the suspects were arrested before carrying it out. Maes already faced an international arrest warrant from France, where he was convicted in a separate case but never appeared in court. He was detained earlier this year.
