Gen Z protesters have returned to the streets of Nepal, triggering fresh clashes in Bara district after a confrontation with supporters of former prime minister KP Sharma Oli. Stones were reportedly thrown; two local leaders were arrested, and police used tear gas as shots were allegedly fired into the air. Ten people were injured, and a police post was reportedly set on fire before authorities imposed a curfew. The unrest follows Nepal’s September uprising, which left at least 76 people dead and led to Oli’s resignation. The Nepal protests are part of a wider global trend of youth-led movements across Asia, Africa and Latin America.
