Vietnam's President Vo Van Thuong Sacked over Corruption

Vietnamese president Vo Van Thuong has been forced to resign over corruption allegations. He's the second Vietnamese President to resign in a little over a year. This is part of the country's anti-corruption drive, called the "Blazing Furnace". But the now former president Thuong was facing heat over a cold case from 12 years ago. Is this a case of political vendetta? Is Vietnam's anti-corruption drive being used to settle scores?
