A Turkish C-130 military cargo plane carrying 20 personnel crashed in Georgia near the Azerbaijani border, according to Turkish and Georgian officials. The aircraft had taken off from Azerbaijan and was returning to Turkey when it went down in Georgia’s Sighnaghi municipality. President Recep Tayyip Erdogan confirmed there were casualties, expressing condolences for the “martyrs.” Joint search and rescue operations with Georgian and Azerbaijani teams are underway, while the cause of the crash is under investigation.
