Weeks ahead of the US elections, Republican Party candidate Donald Trump launched a cryptocurrency platform. 'World Liberty Financial' is being dubbed as Trump family's crypto project. This platform allows people to buy digital 'tokens'. These tokens would give them the right to vote in platform decisions. Former president's son Donald Trump Jr. touted this as "the start of a financial revolution," during a session streamed on X, formerly Twitter. During his presidency, Trump had called cryptocurrencies a "scam" and had warned against its widespread adoption. Since then, Trump has radically changed his position. Trump's crypto platform would primarily use 'stablecoins', which are backed by a traditional currency, most often the dollar.
