Taiwan Urges Probe into Foxconn Employees' Strange Detention in China

Four employees of Foxconn, the world’s largest iPhone assembler, have been detained in Zhengzhou, China, under what Taiwan calls “strange” circumstances. Taiwan’s Mainland Affairs Council suspects the detentions could be linked to corruption within Chinese security forces. Foxconn, however, reports no harm to its business or its interests. This case has raised concerns over corporate confidence and the broader relationship between Taiwan and China.
