Major Hollywood studios, including Disney, Netflix, Warner Bros, Paramount, and Sony have sent warning letters to ByteDance over its new AI video generator, Seedance 2.0. The tool can create short videos with dialogue and sound effects from text prompts. Users generated clips featuring celebrities and scenes resembling popular films and television series without authorisation. Studios accuse the company of copyright infringement and demand the removal of their intellectual property from training systems. The Motion Picture Association and SAG-AFTRA have also criticised the platform. ByteDance says it respects intellectual property and is strengthening safeguards. The dispute highlights growing tensions between AI innovation, creative rights and global technology competition.
