Russian President Vladimir Putin has issued a nuclear warning. He repeated an earlier warning that Russia could resume the production of mid-range nuclear weapons if the United States deploys its missiles in Germany. Putin made the statement during a speech on the Russian Navy Day in St. Petersburg on July 28. This comes after the US said it will deploy long-range fire capabilities in Germany from 2026. During the speech, Putin said the US had risked triggering a Cold War-style missile crisis with the German announcement. "This situation is reminiscent of the events of the Cold War related to the deployment of American medium-range Pershing missiles in Europe," he said.
