Emmanuel Macron has traded barbs with Giorgia Meloni after a far-right activist was fatally beaten during clashes in Lyon. Meloni condemned the killing online, calling violence by alleged left-wing extremists “a wound for all Europe.” Speaking to reporters during a visit to India, Macron fired back that some nationalist leaders who dislike outside scrutiny are often quickest to comment on other countries’ affairs.
