US President Donald Trump met his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping in South Korea on Thursday to discuss key trade issues. Trump described the talks as "successful", though Xi has not commented on the discussions yet. The US and China failed to reach a full agreement, but agreed to a one-year tactical pause. Under the deal, Trump will reduce tariffs on Chinese goods for one year, and in return, China will resume buying American soybeans. The US will cut tariffs by 10%, bringing the overall rate on Chinese exports down to 47%. Trump was quick to call the meeting a win, saying, "I'll be going to China in April and he'll be coming here sometime after that, whether it's in Florida Palm Beach or Washington, D.C." But the question remains — did the summit really resolve the trade war, or just delay it? On Vantage tonight, Palki Sharma brings you the full story.
