INSV Kaundinya, a traditional Indian sailing vessel, has embarked on its maiden international voyage from Porbandar to Muscat. Built entirely using ancient Indian techniques—without engines or modern tools—it revives centuries-old shipbuilding traditions and trade routes. This “Living Ocean Expedition” by the Indian Navy highlights India's forgotten maritime heritage while fostering ties with Oman. With 17 sailors on board, the ship honours India’s legacy of peaceful maritime exploration and craftsmanship. Prime Minister Modi praised the mission, calling it a tribute to India's oceanic past.
