Humanoid Robots Race Humans in Beijing Half-Marathon | Vantage with Palki Sharma | N18G

China pitted humanoid robots against humans in a half-marathon for the first time, in Beijing on Saturday. The robots were accompanied by human trainers, who sometimes had to physically support the machines during the race. A few robots crashed mid-way during the race. The winning robot, Tiangong Ultra, finished in 2 hours and 40 minutes — long after the men's winner finished the race in 1 hour and 2 minutes.

- On this day in 1989, over a million student protesters gathered at China's Tiananmen Square, calling for an end to the dictatorship, and raising slogans for greater freedom and democracy. It was the largest political protest in Communist China's history. And it ended with bloodshed on June 3, when Beijing rolled tanks to crush the protest of unarmed civilians.
