France is once again in turmoil. Another government has collapsed, a new prime minister has been sworn in, and the streets are burning. President Emmanuel Macron is now on his seventh prime minister since 2017, with 39-year-old loyalist Sébastien Lecornu stepping into the hot seat. But his arrival comes as protests explode across the country under the banner “Let’s Block Everything” — echoing the Yellow Vest movement. With France’s debt at 114% of GDP, budget cuts have fuelled anger and instability. Can Lecornu survive, or will France slide into yet another crisis? Palki Sharma tells you.
