First Floods in Sahara Desert in Almost Half a Century

Parts of Sahara desert were flooded after receiving rare heavy rainfall. In a social media post, Morocco's General Directorate of Meteorology said the country experienced a particularly unstable and humid month of September which was marked by intense downpour. Some regions experienced heavy rains exceeding 200 mm in 48 hours, resulting in flash floods, the directorate added.
