Ecuador’s President Daniel Noboa escaped the attack on his convoy which was an assassination attempt by the protesters. His motorcade was surrounded by stone-throwing protesters. Around five people have been arrested on the charges of terrorism. Officials stated that the police is investigating the incident with marks on Noboa's car. The unrest was because Noboa ended Ecuador’s diesel subsidy, raising fuel prices to save $1.1 billion annually. This led to nationwide protests and Noboa declared state of emergency. The protests continue to happen as the country witnessed economic unrest.
