Sri Lanka is facing severe floods after heavy rain linked to Cyclone Ditwah. At least 56 people have been killed, and 21 remain missing. Nearly 3,000 homes have been damaged, and around 44,000 people have been affected, with 15,000 sheltering in relief centres. Rescue teams are using helicopters, navy boats and military units to reach stranded communities. India has launched Operation Sagar Bandhu, sending ships and relief supplies and preparing helicopter support. The crisis comes as Indonesia, Thailand and Malaysia experience deadly floods, with over 300 reported fatalities across the region and thousands still missing or displaced.
