In a shocking incident in Peacehaven, East Sussex, a mosque was deliberately set on fire late Saturday night in what police believe to be a hate-fueled attack. Two masked men reportedly tried to break into the mosque before dousing the entrance and a nearby vehicle with petrol and setting them ablaze. Two elderly worshippers who were inside managed to escape safely without injury. Sussex Police have launched a detailed investigation, releasing CCTV images of the suspects and confirming that the case is being treated as arson with intent to endanger lives. The disturbing attack took place just two days after a fatal assault near a Manchester synagogue during Yom Kippur, in which two people lost their lives. Authorities are now examining possible links between these incidents as concerns rise over hate crimes targeting religious communities in the UK.
