The Awami Action Committee is at the forefront of this movement, uniting civil society groups to demand basic rights that have been denied for decades. Shops, markets and transport services remain closed as part of the mass protests. Authorities have also imposed partial restrictions on mobile networks and internet services, adding to the growing unrest across the region.
