Indonesia has halted TikTok’s operations in the country after the popular social media app failed to fully share details about its live streaming activities during the massive anti-government demonstrations in August. Officials from the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs revealed that TikTok submitted only limited data despite repeated requests for complete information. With a user base exceeding 100 million, Indonesia stands as the second largest market for the platform owned by China’s ByteDance. Authorities have not yet announced how long this suspension will remain in effect.
