Virtual Tours, Yoga Breaks: GoI’s G20 India, Sandes App has tons of cool features for delegates, ministers

The Indian government has introduced a new app for all visitors to the G20 Summit. The app, called G20 India is accessible to all visitors, including Indian ministers. In a recent communication posted on X, Prime Minister Narendra Modi directed ministers to download this application to facilitate their communication with international representatives. Developed by the Ministry of External Affairs, the G20 India app provides comprehensive information about the Summit in ten languages, such as Hindi, German, Portuguese, and Japanese. Additionally, it offers a virtual tour of the Summit venue, which can be particularly beneficial for delegates, officials, media personnel, and others involved. The app can be accessed from both, the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store. One of the coolest features of the app is its navigation feature which is designed to assist users in navigating the various venues within the Bharat Mandapam Convention Center at Pragati Maidan. Furthermore, it boasts a dedicated section that provides access to press releases, documents, speeches, delegate accounts, photographs, videos, and more. Notably, the app also offers a unique “Yoga Break” feature, enabling users to engage in yoga sessions whenever they require a break. Additionally, at the venue, there is a Digital India Experience Zone, and users can consult the app to discover what is available in this zone and determine if they are interested in exploring it further. This zone even features an “Ask GITA” kiosk, which responds to inquiries about life in the voice of Krishna, drawing from the teachings of the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita, using AI. Some of the other cool features of the app that will help the delegates explore the G20 Summit’s venue and the Bharat Mandapam Convention Center include Language Translation, Citizen’s Corner, Crafts Bazaar, Explore India, Calendar, and more. There’s also a special communications app for security personnel. Both the Delhi Police and other officials from the Indian Army are actively engaged. Delhi Police, in particular, is using the Sandes app for secure communication. Developed by the National Informatics Centre (NIC), this app is currently employed by inspectors and commissioners to securely exchange documents and other vital information. The app adheres to a secure internet protocol for document sharing, ensuring that these documents can only be accessed within the confines of the app, safeguarding their confidentiality.
