Tesla CEO, Elon Musk has decided to launch his satellite internet company, Starlink Satellite Communications Pvt. Ltd. in India. The demo run is said to be useful for its security and technical conditions for the broadband services.
Starlink enters Indian market
Starlink will lead the demo runs on October 30 and 31 in Mumbai. The company has leased around 1,294 square feet of office in the Chandivali area for about 2.33 crore stretching to five years as of now. Musk has chosen Mumbai as the operational hub of Starlink.
This will mark Starlink’s first official presence in India as it decides to ignite the internet services which are powered by satellites.
Targets wider connectivity
Before its demo run was conducted, Starlink had planned to establish and connect nine gateway stations across Indian cities. These include Mumbai, Noida, Chandigarh, Kolkata, and Lucknow.
Connecting these stations will help to connect the satellite signals and different users across the country.
Starlink’s reliable services
Starlink is said to be the world’s dominant satcom operator with a constellation of 7,578 satellites. India has currently provided only necessary approval to Starlink.
The company will face off against Eutelsat OneWeb and Jio Satellite after receiving other clearances from the government.
Tech minds and experts believe that Starlink’s arrival can totally transform the internet facility enabling accessibility in rural and remote areas.
