Viral video: How predictable are you?

We all fondly believe ourselves to be unique individuals, with unique ways of thinking that make us somehow, special. But alas, it turns out that we are more predictable than we think! [caption id=“attachment_528810” align=“alignleft” width=“380”] Screengrab from YouTube[/caption] Call it math, call it logic, but this video which is quickly gaining popularity on the Internet, will definitely have you stumped. Called “How predictable are you?”, the video by psychologist, author and performer Professor Richard Wiseman (whose YouTube video channel is called quirkology) asks you to move your finger along a series of nine squares with different symbols to a count. You can move up and down, but not diagonally. Every time the count stops, Wiseman predicts which square your finger will NOT be on, and removes it from the grid. He is so accurate, that he guesses correctly even when the grid is just down to two squares. Try it and let us know if you were able to beat Wiseman’s prediction and more importantly, if you can figure out how in the world he did it!
