Prime Minister Narendra Modi has done an impeccable job in making fitness a trend. But is Modiji the sole fitness leader? Ahead of the International Yoga Day, our Internet scout Nano aka Nandini, digs a little deeper into our fitness trends. Follow us on Twitter @tech2eets - https://twitter.com/tech2eets and on Facebook - http://www.facebook.com/tech2dotcom You can read transcript here: Welcome to FOMO short for Fear of Missing Out, I am your internet scout, Nano, and iss hafte hum baat karenge Modiji ke #HumFitTohIndiaFit ka Tann ki Baat edition. This video came out in response to Virat Kohli’s HumFitTohIndiaFit challege from last month, where he tagged NaMo to share one too. Though, I really appreciate the entire fitness initiative. We are a nation of a lot of lazy asses, and the Prime Minister has done an impeccable job in making fitness a trend. For God’s sake, 21 June, has been declared an International Yoga Day, thanks to Modi ji’s efforts. BUT, with so much PR behind the initiative, ese nahin lagne lag gaya hai jaise sirf Modi ji hi fit hain. Baaki toh bas... In fact, the fitness challenges in our country really echoes former US President Barack Obama’s Let’s Move initiative. The Obamas had been all about fitness in their eight years at White House. Also, have you seen Putin? The man is known for his fitness and infamously riding horses shirtless. Not sure how i feel about that though. For that matter, our country’s first prime minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, was a big advocate of yoga, and apparently suryanamaskar was his favourite asana. Then there was Morarji Desai, and his practices of urine therapy. He was another leader who widely talked about Yoga, and we now have a national institute for Yoga in his name. And if you want a fitness crush on somebody, look up Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. Along with being blessed with exceptional looks, his charming advocacy for refugees and feminism, JT is also a yogi. About two years ago, this picture of Trudeau doing mayurasana went viral. And why not. Thank you internet. If you love to stay fit too, send me your favourite workout. And if you are looking for more desi ways of toning your body, check out the link above to the Episode 3 of FOMO. And oh, I almost forgot, TIL: Soccer or football as we know it may have originated in England, but the game can be traced back to almost 3,000 years to China. This a wrap.
