Meet Gappcom, a DIY app development startup for enterprises

Communications form a major part of most of the businesses and there are a wide variety of options such as Messengers, WhatsApp, Slack and so on. The newest to jump onto the bandwagon is Gappcom. This mere month old startup is a product of Gappmod. But what sets it apart is it’s tailor made for enterprise. It is a DIY app development platform that is quick and easy to set up. **“**Gappcom is a communications app development platform that allows you to easily set up and manage an intelligent 2-way communication channel between you and your consumers/stakeholders on smartphones. The Gappcom app is published and approved on Google and Apple stores, and it acts as a container app and an easy access point for all the apps built on Gappcom. So the customers who built their own app do not have to worry about hosting their app, processes and time involved in publishing it on different operating systems. With this innovative App-in-App model that Gappcom offers, the customers can go live instantly on all the stores,” Dhaval Thanki CEO & Co-Founder tells us. Thanki has a masters in Management studies from Mumbai University and worked in the Digital (Mobile & Web) space for over 12 years and his previous stints involve Wipro Technologies, CNBC TV18 and Direxions. Besides, Gappcomm is co-founded by Vikram Mahadevan with Masters of Science (MS) in Computer Science from the University at Buffalo  and has spent around 12 years in digital and mobile development. He has has worked in software development with firms like Ciber Inc and XEROX in the US for over 10 years. It’s a team of 7 members including the co-founders. “We came up with this idea based on our interactions with Small businesses and their concerns regarding not being able to maintain consistent communication with customers,” Thanki adds. Here’s how Gappcom compares against other communication apps. ![gappcomm](http://tech.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/gappcomm.png) Thanki tells us that DIY helps with lower costs, makes the process user friendly and the company offers phone support if needed. The pilot went live last month and they have been testing it with some companies in order to add new features, depending upon their feedback. Talking about security, Thanki adds, “From a technological standpoint, we are continuously improving our server security. It is naturally a constantly evolving process. We are currently using a Firewall and are in the process of implementing TLS (Transport Layer Security), making customer data un-hackable. Secondly, from a business standpoint we do not share customer data with advertisers or any third party providers for external use.”
