Adding to the bot mania is Flickstree, a new Facebook Messenger bot (web and app) that helps with movie recommendations and also suggests places to go. It puts the potential of Artificial Intelligence in the tech space at the forefront. The AI-powered guide to films uses advanced machine learning algorithms to make suggestions to users. “Before suggesting any film, the algorithm passes every movie through a critical lens of various filters. For instance, average movie rating worldwide, accounting all film critics’ reviews available for the movie, count of users rating a film, etc.,” Saurabh Singh, CEO, Flickstree tells us. We have created a robot, which understands user inputs and suggests films they would love to watch. It also directs them where they can watch any suggested film,” he adds. It is a first for Facebook, claims the company, as the social media platform has no chatbot scanning movies availability and suggesting films. It aggregates films from over 15 platforms including iTunes, Google Play Movies, Eros Now, Hungama, Amazon Prime, among others. There have been several reports claiming how users are prefer about 4-5 apps, owing to usage and also low storage space. And, chatbots could be the solution to this.
