It seems that the SmartNaMo phone does exist. The phone for Modi fans is up for pre-order on
Snapdeal. There are two versions of the new smartphone, which is called SmartNaMo Saffron One, in 16 GB and 32 GB models. The 16GB model is priced at Rs 18,000, while the 32GB model is priced at Rs 23,000. Currently Snapdeal shows that both phones are sold out. You can pre-book the devices by paying Rs 999 in advance. According to Snapdeal, the launch date of these dual-SIM phones is second week Of October. The smartphones have 1.5 Ghz quad-core processor, a 5-inch IPS touchscreen (1920 x 1080 HD) and runs Android 4.2 build of Jelly Bean. The phone also has a 13 megapixel rear camera and a 5 megapixel front camera. The phone supports microSD card and its memory is expandable up to 64GB. What is not clear however is the name of the company or the distributors who are selling the phone. Previously
Quartz had reported that the phone could be hoax. Ammeet Desai, a spokesperson for phone had then contacted Quartz and said that phone was real and that theirs’ was a completely valid company in India and China. However he had refused to name the company.
It seems that the SmartNaMo does exist. The phone for Modi fans is up for pre-order on Snapdeal.
