Galaxy S25 Series: Rumoured specs and features

The Galaxy S25 series is tipped to bring modest upgrades over its predecessor while retaining key features:

  • Charging: The Galaxy S25 Ultra and S25+ will support 45W wired fast charging (with EP-T2510 travel adapters), while the base Galaxy S25 sticks with 25W charging. Notably, wireless charging for the standard S25 will drop to 9W, down from the S24’s 15W. As expected, Samsung won’t include charging adapters in the box.

  • Connectivity: All models will feature 5G, dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth, GNSS, and NFC. However, ultra-wideband (UWB) will be exclusive to the Galaxy S25+ and S25 Ultra.

  • Performance: The series will run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite processor globally, with the Exynos 2500 unlikely to make an appearance. All devices will ship with Android 15 layered with OneUI 7.

  • Cameras: While the S25 and S25+ will see minor tweaks, the Galaxy S25 Ultra will get a significant upgrade, replacing its current 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens with a 50-megapixel sensor. It will keep its 200-megapixel main camera and telephoto lenses, maintaining its top-tier imaging capabilities.

  • Design: The Galaxy S25 Ultra is rumoured to adopt a flat frame with rounded corners, softening its squared-off look while keeping its flat display. This aligns it visually with the standard S25 and S25+ models. A five-camera setup, similar to the S24 Ultra, will remain, with design influences from the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 6. The Ultra model will also include its iconic S Pen.

Galaxy S25 Series: Pricing Expectations in India

Leaks suggest the Galaxy S25 series may see a price hike of Rs 5,000 to Rs 7,000 compared to the previous generation. Tentative pricing includes:

  • Galaxy S25 Ultra: Around Rs 1,35,000

  • Galaxy S25+: Around Rs 1,05,000

  • Galaxy S25: Around Rs 85,000

However, Samsung may hold prices steady to remain competitive, especially as Apple’s iPhone 16 series is expected to stick to its current pricing structure.

With its AI-driven enhancements, refined design, and Qualcomm’s powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, the Galaxy S25 series looks poised to be a strong contender in the 2025 flagship smartphone market.
