Samsung Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy Gear smartwatch to launch in India today

Samsung is all set to launch the Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Gear smartwatch in India today. The company is running a live webcast of the launch as well.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy Gear smartwatch to launch in India today

Samsung is all set to launch the Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Gear smartwatch in India today. The company is running a live webcast of the launch as well which you can catch here. We will be live-blogging the event as well. The launch event will begin at 12.15 pm. While the device will be showcased in India today, it will only hit the stores on 25 September. Samsung has also opened up pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and the Galaxy Gear smartwatch. Users can pay an advance payment of Rs 2,000 for pre-booking the device. Samsung is also offering Galaxy Note 3 with the Galaxy Gear smartwatch at the same pre-booking price. Of course, the actual price of both devices is going to be much higher than Rs 2000. The Note 3 could be priced higher than Rs 45,000 and closer to Rs 50,000. According to BGR.in which looked at the source code of Saholic the price of the phablet would be Rs 47,990. The Galaxy Gear smartwatch which was launched for $299 could cost close to Rs 19,000 in India or it could be priced higher as well. The Galaxy Note 3 has a 5.7-inch full HD Super AMOLED display. It will be available in 32GB and 64GB versions, along with an additional microSD card slot. It has 3GB RAM, a 13 megapixel rear camera with Smart Stabilization and high CRI LED flash. Getty Images[/caption] The device supports the latest LTE technologies, which the company claims, supports the greatest number of multiple frequencies. It runs on Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean). India is likely to get the Octa-core version of the smartphone. As far as the Galaxy Gear is concerned it has a 1.63 inch Super AMOLED display with 320 x 320 pixel resolution. The processor is 800 MHz and the smartwatch comes with 512 MB RAM and 4GB memory space. It has a 1.9 megapixel camera on the strap. The camera has BSI Sensor, Auto Focus and the ability to record and shoot videos as well. It has two microphones, ( 1 noise cancelling) and a speaker as well. The watch supports Bluetooth 4.0 and sensors on the watch are accelerometer and gyroscope. In terms of dimensions the watch is 36.8 x 56.6 x 11.1 mm, weighs 73.8g. It has a Li-ion 315mAh battery.
